Knitting and the art to relax

Some years ago I discovered a quality in the action of knitting.

In times your mind runs over, sitting down and knit, gives you the opportunity toorder your thoughts and come to new plans and ideas. Or better said:

How to relax and pour new inspiration.

It is such a pleasure doing something functional and be able to let your thoughts flow. It is needed to empty the mind bucket and make room for fresh thoughts.

Lovely to see you work grow, while knitting. Nothing exceptional, rather straight forward patterns like ponchos and shawls or interior basics, like hand towels, cushions etc. By choosing the yarn, the colors and the knitting pattern this relaxing action won't be dull either.

Even the knit-work itself inspires to fresh designs. The yarn, the front look. Or even better the backside.

And what do you think of the sight when you look through the knit-work?
Nice texture, isn't it?

Taking pictures, it is hard to withstand playing with the texture in repeat.201405-2-knitting-collage-2-1200

Well that means I am fresh and ready for some sketches as a basic for new designs.

What is your remedy to turn the noisiness in your head into fresh ideas?

I would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to leave some thoughts below.
